Spring Break…

Well lots of time has passed since I last posted on here. I figured to give my blog a little love!

Last week was spring break. I took my daughter down to Florida and had a good time visiting family, going to the beach, Disney’s Epcot, and more. But as usual with any vacation comes the extra food! I definitely put on a few extra pounds.

I am back up to 225.4lbs. My current target goal is 200lbs. I am kicking it back into high gear starting today. I am thinking about doing a simple spreadsheet to track some key fitness items. What would you track?

Reboot 2017

I am back at it! Took a little break around the holidays and it shows! I was down to 210 before Thanksgiving. Right now I am at almost 220! The big meals and cookies/treats are past us now! So time for a reboot!

I will be getting back into my intermittent fasting routine as well as adjusting my water intake(Soda did creep back in during the holiday!). An added bonus is that some people in my neighborhood are doing a weightloss challenge! Of course I signed up! It’s a couples competition so my wife will be joining me. I am a littttle bit competitive so this should help out a lot!

The one thing that is lacking right now is the physical activity. When I started the weather was nice enough to still get outside a lot. Now a little colder and I’m finding it harder to get my steps in. I’m thinking about joining a cheap gym by my office and getting in some quick workouts before work. I also have a total gym Chuck Norris thingy in the garage! I am going to bring that up into the bedroom for some evening workouts.

Well hope you all made it through the holidays without too much set back. Back to the grind!

Week 7 Weigh In

+ 3 Lbs! The turkey got to me! It is what I expected atleast. That’s what sitting around and eating over the Thanksgiving break will do to you.

Now to get back in the grind of things. Should make some good progress this week. I’m working on a jobsite at a hotel. It provides lots of walking and I’ll choose to take the stairs a lot of the time.

My goal this week is to get back the 3 pounds gained over thanksgiving break. I am aiming at getting to 205LBs by Christmas break. How did y’all fare over the holiday? Eat too much like me??

Week 6 Weigh In

-3.6lbs! Pretty excited about that! My goal was to get at or below 210 pounds by Thanksgiving. So I made it there with a few days to spare. I am going to try to drop 2 more pounds by Thanksgiving. Because I am sure I will gain a few! I will consider it a win to still be at 210 after Thanksgiving!

I am still struggling coming up with some sort of work out routine(or time to do it). Other than my soccer game last week I only made it on a couple of lunchtime walks. Ideally I would like to be mixing in some more moderate workouts but glad to see I can still make progress without it. I still was really active last week. I was over 10,000 steps all but 1 day.

How do you all deal with The Holidays and not slacking off too much? Time gets a lot tighter and not to mention all sorts of goodies and food keeps getting thrown in your face! Most people don’t recommend starting a weight loss journey during the holiday. I said screw it! I didn’t want to wait until the typical New Years resolution thing!

My Favorite Exercise

Staying active and exercising doesn’t have to be boring. You don’t have to be a robot on a machine! Find something you love to do and do it! Almost everybody at some point played a sport when they were younger. Most enjoyed it as a kid. Well guess what? You can still be playing! There are adult rec leagues for almost every sport out there. Most even have beginner leagues working up to highly competitive leagues. Find where you fit in and sign up! Whether it’s soccer, softball, flag football, kickball, dodge ball, tennis there’s bound to be something you enjoy doing a burn a ton of calories at the same time.

For me it’s always been soccer. I’ve played the sport since I was 6 years with only a few years off here and there. I look forward to playing every week. Not only for the good competitive fun but also as one of my main forms of exercise. I think I am also going to look into playing in a basketball league during the soccer off season.

Stay active!
