Reboot 2017

I am back at it! Took a little break around the holidays and it shows! I was down to 210 before Thanksgiving. Right now I am at almost 220! The big meals and cookies/treats are past us now! So time for a reboot!

I will be getting back into my intermittent fasting routine as well as adjusting my water intake(Soda did creep back in during the holiday!). An added bonus is that some people in my neighborhood are doing a weightloss challenge! Of course I signed up! It’s a couples competition so my wife will be joining me. I am a littttle bit competitive so this should help out a lot!

The one thing that is lacking right now is the physical activity. When I started the weather was nice enough to still get outside a lot. Now a little colder and I’m finding it harder to get my steps in. I’m thinking about joining a cheap gym by my office and getting in some quick workouts before work. I also have a total gym Chuck Norris thingy in the garage! I am going to bring that up into the bedroom for some evening workouts.

Well hope you all made it through the holidays without too much set back. Back to the grind!

Week 6 Weigh In

-3.6lbs! Pretty excited about that! My goal was to get at or below 210 pounds by Thanksgiving. So I made it there with a few days to spare. I am going to try to drop 2 more pounds by Thanksgiving. Because I am sure I will gain a few! I will consider it a win to still be at 210 after Thanksgiving!

I am still struggling coming up with some sort of work out routine(or time to do it). Other than my soccer game last week I only made it on a couple of lunchtime walks. Ideally I would like to be mixing in some more moderate workouts but glad to see I can still make progress without it. I still was really active last week. I was over 10,000 steps all but 1 day.

How do you all deal with The Holidays and not slacking off too much? Time gets a lot tighter and not to mention all sorts of goodies and food keeps getting thrown in your face! Most people don’t recommend starting a weight loss journey during the holiday. I said screw it! I didn’t want to wait until the typical New Years resolution thing!

Week 4 Weigh In

Results are in! I am down 3 pounds this week! I’m pretty happy with those results. Being that I had a tweaked back pretty much all week and physical activity was slim. I was able to get my Sunday night soccer game in!

Only big obstacle last week was a Friendsgiving dinner on Wednesday night. I ate a good portion but didn’t over do it. I also opted out of dessert!

Starting Thursday I implemented intermittent fasting. I did my research online. Reading and watching videos on it. The science behind it really made sense to me. You have to get your body to tap into your stored fat. So basically I fast for 16 hours and then I have an 8 hour eating window to consume my daily calories. While still having a caloric deficit for the day. We will see how it goes from here.

This week I am going to aim for losing 4 pounds. My back is much better so I will be able to increase my activity. 2.5 weeks until Thanksgiving! I’m hoping to be around 205 by thanksgiving. As I’m sure I’ll have a minor setback then! Haha!

Hope you all are reaching your goals and staying on track! Feel free to share your progress!

Week 2 Weigh In

Shedded 4 more pounds this week! That’s 14 total! I didn’t quite get the 5 lbs I was shooting for but still happy with the results. I stayed pretty firm on making good eating choices but wasn’t able to get much exercise in.

This week is going to be a tough one! I am going to aim for another 4 pounds. I am going to have to make some good progress during the week because the odds are against me for the weekend with a Halloween party and the Florida v Geaorgia game! Wish me luck!

Week 1 Weigh In

One week in the books! I am down 10lbs and pretty happy with the results! I achieved this without ever going to the gym or doing any heavy exercise(other than my soccer game). It all starts by drinking tons of water, being more active, and make better(not perfect) eating decisions.

This week my goal will be -5lbs. I will be mixing in a few moderate exercising sessions.

Look for some future posts this week laying out 3 fitness goals that I would like to achieve during this weight loss/fitness journey!
